Beach day with Clarke and Kids!

When I went to Rohnert Park to help Clarke with the kids while Char recovered from having Elise,I told them I wanted to go to the beach, especially since they live only 35 min. from Bodega Bay. We decided to go the day after Char came home from the hospital. We went to a beach north of Bodega Bay. I forgot the name. The day started off cool and foggy, as most northern Cali beaches do, but within 2 hours we had the most sunny and gorgeous beach day I have seen in a long time. The kids love this beach because there is a huge sand dune to play on. I think I climbed it 6 times.

Clarke and Gracie as we climbed down the hills to the waterfront area with no waves. You have to walk a short distance to get to the ocean.
Andrew with all the gear for sand castles and a nice piece of petrified wood he found along the way. Lucy is in the pink behind him... she was taking it all in.
There were many surfers here this day as the waves were quite spectacular. While Clarke, Andrew and Lucy played a game of not letting the waves get you... it was frigid water, Gracie and I played in the sand and headed for the dunes ahead of the others.

This girl can climb. I had a hard time keeping up with her and I kept sinking in the sand. This picture does not give the grasp of how big a climb this really is. We went up and down at least 4 times before the others arrived.
Halfway up I told Gracie that this would be a great picture to show her mother and Elise so she was quite the little model!!
What a cutie. We had so much fun together!
Clarke arriving at the dunes and Gracie was sliding through the sand to meet her dad at the bottom. I stayed at the top this time to get some pics. Only regret is that I didn't get one with me in it!
The three kids were going up and down while Clarke and i each took an area on the dune and bask in the warmth... you see around the corner the ocean  wind was cold and we had shelter on the dune. Later when the sun peaked out it got hot!!!
We had a frisbee that we threw from the top of the dune to the bottom and the kids were so fun to watch as they ran and fell in the sand and laughed. They did not want to go home after 5 hours on the beach! We had so much fun!
Lucy and Dad taking a breather from running and rolling on the dunes.I look forward to going again.

Last summer adventure before school starts! 2012

My grandchildren love to come and spend the night. Sarah's children love to do crafts so we got out several projects and had a day of crafting. Benson is in the background washing my dishes... which he loves to do.
For Mckay's birthday in July we gave him a discovery computer and I spent some time teaching him to play some of the games.
I love Benson... he is so sweet and we have such a fun time. He loves water play.

Every time Benson comes, since he was born he has slept in a port a crib. This time I told him I had a special Winnie the Pooh airbed just for big boys! That smile tells the story. He stayed in the bed and loved every minute of it.
You can't come to grandpa's without some time on the water bed and a good BOY's movie which this day was Return of the Jedi. Mckay loved the time with his grandpa.
